ABOUT MICK YARD
Hungary → USA: An energy-driven power blues journey
Miklos Udvardi aka (Hungarian to English translation) Mick Yard is a self-taught rhythm and lead guitarist and was born in Varpalota, Hungary.
Raised within Communism, music was censored and there was little availability to the various artists who would become his inspiration.
The Beginning
Miklos Udvardi aka (Hungarian to English translation) Mick Yard is a self-taught rhythm and lead guitarist born in Varpalota, Hungary. Raised within Communism—
The Turning Point
At 15 years of age, however, he heard Alvin Lee in concert—and everything changed. BLUES MUSIC become his passion and reshaped his future.
The Leap
After playing the limited venues and concerts offered in his homeland, he realized that his true audience would be in America. Miklos left behind communism, his family and home to take a chance on a language and country he did not know; to go where he could freely listen to B.B. King, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Robin Trower, Albert Collins, Stevie Ray Vaughan and all who kept the hope.

The hope that this music, played with such passion and heart, could also become his voice, the voice of his guitar. He plays completely from his heart and there is a reason Mick has been nicknamed The Hungarian Hurricane….
